Description

This image, the Passenger Jet Airliner Cloudy Sky Over Burbank in BW, was taken during one of those situations where you had to react quick, because it was going to be gone real soon. I was shooting a black and white film job for a client, a lot was going on, and a jet airplane was passing by. We stopped to watch the jet, and I was standing there with my Hasselblad in my hands, waiting for the jet to pass by so we could resume.

Then it dawned on me, take a picture, and so it went! I didn't think much of the shot at the time because the film was for a specific client, and the airplane shot was just a bit of a diversion. Plus the heavy overcast and the clouds, plus a slow shutter-speed meant that the jet was going to be out of focus, but it all worked out.

We weren't there to shoot airplanes in the sky, so I only paid a moment's notice, and soon forgot about the image.

You never know what will happen, so it makes sense to just push the button and hope that something turns out on the other end. -YoPedro
