Out On a Limb.
When you spend time in the mountains there are going to be times where you find some inclement weather.
I was "camped" up in Yosemite on a February weekend when I captured this. I arrived on a Friday afternoon just before sundown and the weather was threatening at the time. I woke up Saturday morning with over a foot of snow on the windshield and the snow was still coming down. I put on my snow gear and stepped out of the Jeep and was welcomed with almost a complete whiteout.
After breakfast we drove around looking for some photo ops but everything was obscured. So when you can't shoot at a distance you need to change focus and find something nearby and close-up.
I was playing around with this oak tree and really liked how all of the branches seemed to go every which way creating an abstract of tree limbs and snow.
