Description
A 1951 Mercury Monterey is shown on the road to the Paradise Visitor Center in Oregon's beautiful Mt. Rainier National Park. The top-of-the-line Monterey with a 255 ci flathead V8, vinyl top and other amenities set it apart from the rest of the Mercury line. The styling of the 1949, 1950 and 1951 Mercury two-doors lent themselves almost instantly to being customized into “lead sleds” with lowering, lengthening and chopped tops. This one escaped the lead-sled bug and the customizer’s torch.
