An fabulous capture Chris - I see and hear these lovely creatures all the time but am never fast enough to get a shot! I shall have to settle for adding yours to my favorites so I can come back and look again and again!

Chris Lord replied:

They do tend to dart around but I think this chap was confused as there were about 150 photographers in the smallish area and he wanted to know what was going on. What was going on was a huge NYC Flickr Meetup! Lenses pointed in every direction! Anyway I got a couple of shots of this guy and the sparrow you saw. Thanks very much indeed especially for the fave - look in my bird gallery and you'll see a nice Northern Mockingbird shot I took last year as well. We seem to get quite a lot of them close to the Hudson River even if we are in the big city.

Oh, Chris ... how I've longed for a mockingbird shot!!! I've got a new video all set to go, but I have to have a mockingbird image, lol!!!!! The skittish stinkers!!! This is gorgeous ... beautiful tones ... beautiful and TRICKY lighting so professionally handled!!!!!!

Chris Lord replied:

We have quite a lot of these on the west side, I have an image here I shot over by the Hudson last year and this bird and it's mate were up on the Highline, our newest park on an old elevated railroad track. I was lucky to catch the bird who I first saw last week but I only had my little Canon G10 at the time. I was up there yesterday with about 150 photographers for a huge NYC Flickr meetup so had my big rig with the 200mm lens. The rest of course was all accomplished in Photoshop. So pleased that you like him Lois, thanks so much, cheers.
