Title
Never Give Up
Artist
Sam Persons
Medium
Pastel - Pastels/charcoal
Description
This pastel is of a person reaching up out of the flames trying to consume him. With a lot of my pastel drawings, each color symbolizes a situation or an emotion. That being said, in this drawing the person is being engulfed by the gray flames of depression and the red of anger and hurt. The orange on the right is for frustration with his life and the little dots are the embers of inner emotional pain and turmoil. But the person is not giving up, he has not lost his hope that eventually things will get better if he keeps reaching up. Up to the yellow of hope and into the blues of inner calm and peace that can come if he never gives up.
