This community of roughly 10,00 people in southeastern British Columbia, Canada, has been tagged as "The best small town arts community in Canada". It is also well-known for it's world class all season recreational activities, heritage buildings, the relatively unspoiled beauty of the mountains and lake that surround it, and a wide variety of alternative lifestyles. Several movies have been filmed in this community, most notably Steve Martins' "Roxanne".
