Title
Nature's Abstract Ice Art
Artist
Curtis Knight
Medium
Photograph - Photographs
Description
A little ice art from Mother Nature on the basalt cliffs of the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. Photo taken from the Oregon side, near the west end of the gorge.
Shooting ice formations during the relatively short, but frequent cold snaps in The Gorge is a favored past time of local photographers.
A "long" cold snap might last 2 weeks in a good year, but a week is common and that gives the ice time to form along "Water Fall Row" and along the cliffs on both sides. But ya gotta get out there and shoot because it is always a brief show.
