Description
I was on an October sunset cruise in Mystic Connecticut when I spotted this scene. I took a series of photos from the boat and based this pastel on them. Enhanced with artistic license and my reference. I was able to create this scene. The orange cloud overpowers the lighthouse and steals all the attention. Color is more important then detail in most of my paintings and pastels and this is no exception. Orange and blue is a pleasing combination.The evening looks warm, although it was actually very cold that night!
