Gallery Sale! This original painting is now 50% off list price! I've always been fascinated with seahorses- they definitely look like horses or sea knights! But they're fish! Go figure. And filter-feeders to boot. The most amazing thing that I learned about the pipefish family is that the males actually take the eggs after fertilization and are "pregnant" until the eggs hatch right off of dad's tummy. Not kidding. They're also chameleons and blend in- hence the delicate painting of this seahorse against a pastel background.
This piece is dedicated to the endangered knights of the sea; proceeds from the sale of this piece are donated to the Endangered Species International organization.
