I used masking fluid to capture the birds effects in teh background. Pulled out paint for the clouds. Let the colors run from the sun, using a spray bottle. This also took many layers of watercolor transparent paints.(glazing with watercolor)

Chrisann, I didn't see this before so I wanted to comment on it. The Activity board goes too fast when I get behind. I love the abstract feel of this and the vibrant blues but the perfection of this painting is the birds and you have it all over me girl because I would have messed this up and instead of giving the "feel" of the birds, I would have had to make them LOOK exactly like birds. I love it. FAV/Vote.
