I found this pencil sketch in my drawing books. I thought I had drawn it exactly a year ago today and I thought how fortunate and appropriate. It is actually an abstract sketch of Mother Mary that I did 11 years ago in 2009. I have scanned it into the computer and put some colouring to it.

Today, being Christmas Eve, I think it is important to not only to be cherishing the birth of Christ but also give much recognition to Mary. It is a time of celebration.

I have Mary with a huge aura as she is an enlightened being. She is the mother of Jesus Christ. She was visited by Archangel Gabriel to tell of her that she would be the mother of Jesus. According to Luke 1:26-38 “Don't be afraid, Mary. You have found favour with God. 31 You will become pregnant, give birth to a son.”

According to Dictionary's website, “Mary is revered for her humility and motherly love. ... She is honoured by all Christians, but particularly by Roman Catholics, who believe strongly in her mercy and her power to intercede with God. The Roman Catholic Church also teaches the doctrine of Mary'sImmaculate Conception.”
