This Gumman Gulfstream II private jet looks like a mother hen next to a row of smaller Cessna airplanes. The sun broke through the clouds to illuminate the airplanes, leaving me with a dramatic background of Oregon rain clouds - a "photographer's sky" as an acquaintance once described it.
I made this photograph in June 1980 at McNary Field, as the airport in Salem, Oregon is known.
