Description
I have been photographing pelicans diving for years.....but I kept missing the shot I was after. I wanted to capture the bird when his beak first touches the water. Yesterday my efforts finally paid off............enjoy. Taken with a Nikon D850 with a 70 - 200mm lens.....shutter speed 4000.

I am so surprised to see this with the pelican's beak just entering the water. Even using high speeds on a camera, it is a difficult task to achieve and you need to get the bird to comply and everything around needs to look great. Well done, my friend, well done indeed! :-) Maggie

How about 4000 shutter speed....depth of field had me worried. I don't recall the ISO but was higher than I was comfortable with.....all that and some software for noise. Presto! Thank you Maggie as always.
