Milky Way Rainbow In The Bisti Badlands

Description
The landscapes in the Bisti Badlands are some of the most unique scenes I've ever seen. And with the chance to shoot it at night, I'm sure glad I didn't miss my chance. Here, I captured the Milky Way arcing over a fragile winged hoodoo. With the Milky Way core on the right side and a cloud glowing from light pollution out of Farmington, New Mexico on the left, the scene came together even better than I hoped.
How I Got The Shot
I started with a couple of test shots to get my LED panel into an ideal position for the panorama. At first, I worked to get the shadow from my camera & tripod out of the image but I finally decided that I liked it so I decided to leave it in the frame. Then I made sure my tripod was level before shooting a sequence of vertical images with about 50% overlap on each frame. Panoramic stitching was accomplished with Adobe Lightroom.
