During a trip to Costa Rica, I was privileged to find a tree with a group of Scarlet Macaws hanging out. The Scarlet Macaw is truly a beautiful bird. They mate for life, so you will often see them flying in pairs. It is a common joke that the reason that their squawk is so awful sounding is because they mate for life.
Unfortunately due to deforestation, pesticides, hunting and other factors, the Scarlet Macaw is an endangered species.
I caught these two Scarlet Macaws paying attention to one another in a tree and you could tell that they really liked each other.
I was so thrilled to find some during my trip, they are truly magnificent.
