This image was photographed from my front yard in Aiken South Carolina. What we saw with our eyes was a very faint reddish moon. When you hold the shutter on a camera open for a bit longer, you pick up more color and lots of stars in the background.
Keeping the shutter opened a bit longer allowed me to capture stars. ISO 3200, Shutter Speed was 1/4, Aperture was F8. I was on a tripod the entire time. I noticed anything faster using this zoom lens was creating a star trail and the moon was soft.
