Looking Past The Dark by Lisa Kaiser

My original art of this painting is hanging at the Gallery Underground in Kennewick, Washington. The basement of the Roxy Theater and Antiques is where my art hangs. It's hard to get out of that shop without buying, buyer beware.

My paintings are painterly, meaning in my definition of painterly, that the paint is thick, and highly textured, sometimes dark, mixed with other colors, and rarely but accidently beautiful. One thing I want to point out is that my digital version is nothing like the original!

I start out with a raw emotion before I paint, and as I'm painting I usually have started a verbose debate about something meaningless somewhere with my rhetorical baiting. It's like an orchestra of comments and ideas at home, online, and or where ever. Who can't relate with this?

Then as the paint dries during applications, I check to see if anyone wants to respond and get into another chat session while I paint some more. I pay little attention to detail and my mind is always thinking about communications I've had in the recent past while painting. Somewhere towards the beginning of all my original works, I've created a masterpiece, and when I'm done, it's a thick mass of paint so muddy or smoky, it startles me when people actually buy an original by Lisa Kaiser.

This month at the Gallery Underground I sold four originals and everyone of them was a mistake in the journey of art.


So should you venture to see my artwork, please do not be alarmed. I know they create emotion because I've been told this. One gentleman told me that my work made him cry and when I told him to get real, he started crying right in front of me. Can I sing, Aaaakward in high major C? No, I can't sing at all actually.
