We were dropped off in Ragusa Superiore in order to see the view across the valley to Ragusa Ibla, or the old town of Ragusa where our hotel was located. The plan was to have a leisurely walk down the hill and along the valley to the hotel But it was raining with no letup in sight. As I looked at the scene through the archway toward where I knew our hotel was located, I realized we had a long way to go! And no real shortcut to make it easier. But at least the cover of the archway provided some protection to put on rain jackets, rain pants, and backpack covers. And get a photo of the view toward the Old Town of Ragusa! We also scoped out a place for some nighttime photos of the old town, so all in all a successful outing! Ragusa is part of the Val di Noto UNESCO World Heritage site and 18 of its building are protected by UNESCO patronage.
