Long Tall Texan
Artist
Stephen Stookey
Medium

Description
Tex Randall, once the "tallest Texan," looms over Canyon, TX. The seven ton, 47-foot tall cowboy struck his casual, slouching pose on the Panhandle in 1955. Tex was built of steel and concrete by Harry Wheeler to attract customers to Wheeler's Western Store. Tex is one big Texan. Yep, everything is bigger--and taller--in Texas.
