Description
A view of The Pepper Pot and Portreath from Lighthouse Hill on the north Cornwall Coast.
Built in 1846, the day-mark on top of Lighthouse Hill North Cliff at Portreath is known locally as the Pepperpot. Used for navigation now it was once coastguard lookout and a Huer's Hut, used by fishermen to spot the shoals of pilchards and direct the boats with their nets to trap the fish.
