Description
A man and woman stand in darkness behind an enormous clock in Musee d Orsay, where the Seine River and the light of Paris can be viewed through its glass face. They look beyond the Seine to the ferris wheel in the Tuileries Gardens, then past the myriad buildings of the city to the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur on the horizon. The woman takes a picture of the larger than life moment. Copyright 2014 Ann Horn. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. I've noticed that, Carl. The clocks at d'Orsay are some of my favoritea. A trip to Paris is not complete unless I revisit them!

I really like this capture of the large clock face with the people in silhouette standing next to it. Not only does it give a sense of scale but it is a subtle reminder of the span of time in one's lifetime - the clock is always ticking and the day will be what you make of it so make the most of it. I also like how you have the ferris wheel off in the distance seen from the window pane of the clock face - two great circles within the composition.

Many thanks for your gracious response, Carl. I too love the clocks at the d'Orsay and have photographed them on each of my three trips to Paris, the last being a whirlwind three days with my son in July, when we were in Europe primarily to visit friends in England.

Ann: Your images of Paris are timeless. I loved this clock at the Musee d'Orsay, but the Ferris Wheel wasn't there the last time I saw Paris. Carl

Many thanks for your gracious response, Joe. I was captivated by Musee d' Orsay's clocks the first time I saw them. Now I cannot go to Paris without revisiting them. This is the latest addition to my collection of photos of these mammoth timepieces. Glad you like it..

I never got to the Musee d Orsay so I live it vicariously through the photos of others. This is a really good one! Like. -- Joe.
