How do you say "Here, Kitty" in Italian? "Qui, gattino"? Is this a hungry stray cat or just a pet out for some fresh air? I couldn't tell when I spotted him and jumped up from a chat to get this shot by the old front door. This old home is in the beautiful, ancient hill town of Civita Bagnoregio, Lazio in October, 2013; it's a wonderful scenic destination, and this black and white kitten framed by weathered terra cotta planters on mossy old steps is a favorite memory. Bagnoregio is a comune or municipality in Viterbo Province in the Lazio region of Italy, about 90 km northwest of Rome. It's on top of a rugged peak for defense. There's a bridge now to ease what must have been extremely difficult access.Only about a half dozen permanent residents remain.
