This is one of my newest Tree Tunnel image to date and the entrance, so to speak, heading south! It is very difficult to shoot "The Tree Tunnel" because of the steady flow of traffic and waiting for the light to get just right! The combination of the three elements of yellow light, blue sky, clarity and shadows makes this image a real winner for me. Over 100 years ago, Walter Duncan McBride brought 500 eucalyptus trees from Australia to form Kauai's South Shore Tree Tunnel. This one mile stretch is off Maluhia Road (Hwy. 520), a natural gateway to Kauai’s South Shore and the towns of Koloa and Poipu. The Tree Tunnel is on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
