Description
This image captures a moody scene on Antelope Lake in Plumas County, California. In this neck of the woods it is very common to get a cold snap just after Memorial Day. This period has come to be known by many as “Junuary†and it can make our lakes look very moody indeed. By that time of year, the water has warmed significantly, making for some rather dramatic fog on the water in the early morning hour as the freezing air hits the warmer water. I took this shot just as the sun broke through some low clouds and lit this little island on the lake nicely amid the low fog.
