Description
This image was captured in mid-February in Joshua Tree National Park. Joshua trees young and older dot the desert everywhere one turns. These trees, which are part of the yucca family, are pervasive throughout the park especially at the north end due to the elevation and prime growing conditions which aids the tree in growing several inches per year. In wetter years the trees produce a white flower near the spiny evergreen tips. One of the pleasantries of this park is that it is wide open. There aren't a great deal of signs telling you where to go or not. One can wander and I found myself doing just that - weaving a gentle path here and there, one frame at a time.

Great shot, Allen - have you seen them when they are flowering? They are really stunning then! fv
Allan Van Gasbeck replied:
We missed it by several weeks Stephanie. We have a friend that came back several weeks later and caught some of them in bloom.
