KABOOM :: A surprise intense thunderstorm ~ rare for August in the San Francisco Bay Area ~ lights up the night sky in this dramatic image looking out the window in Marin County, California.

This is one of the very first lightning photos I’ve ever taken, from a safe place indoors. A fulfillment of a bucket list wish.

The Lord’s Second Coming will be like lightning flashing across the sky (Matthew 24:27).

Indeed, it is as if this image and Scripture were made for each other.

The branches of lightning seen in this photo are an offshoot of a huge bolt, thus accounting for the brilliant ball of light in the upper corner ~ signifying the Lord's glorious appearance.

Although it was pitch dark at night, the sky and scenery lit up like daytime.

It was as if the Lord composed this image with the lightning moving across the sky to illustrate the clear and dramatic return of His Son ~ indeed, every eye will behold the Lord Yeshua Jesus' Second Coming (Revelation 1:7).

According to the U.S. National Weather Service, lightning has been documented to strike from a distance of over 25 miles (!) from the thunderstorm, making it unpredictable. An open area such as a body of water or a field are among the most dangerous places to be near a thunderstorm, according to AccuWeather.

When lightning is formed, it superheats the air to 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit, about five times the temperature of the sun. This causes the air to explode outward which results in the thunder we hear. Counting the seconds between the lightning bolt and thunder, I estimate the lightning seen in this photo is within two miles or less.

Although only 1-2 inches in width, just one lightning bolt is a powerful burst of up to 1 billion volts and 10 billion watts ~ which is enough energy to power a 56-home town for an entire day. The speed of visible lightning is astounding, estimated at about 90,000 miles per second.

I believe the Creator of the universe provided this nature photo opportunity to remind me of the importance to steward it wisely, for HIS glory and purpose ~ and to remind people about His Son’s imminent return.

One day very soon, Messiah Yeshua Jesus will come again. It will be SUDDEN, as quick as lightning ~ like “a thief in the night” (1 Thessalonians 5:2). There will be absolutely no time to prepare when that Great Day arrives.

It will come at an hour you do not expect (Matthew 24:42-44).

ARE YOU READY?

Consider this:
God forbid, but if your heart were to stop and you were to die tonight ~ would you know beyond any doubt with absolute certainty that you would be in Heaven?

If there is any inkling of being unsure ~ you can obtain definite assurance which starts this very minute and lasts for eternity by saying these simple words from your heart:

“Father God, please forgive me of my sins.
Jesus, come into my heart.
Make me the kind of person YOU want me to be.
Thank you for saving me TODAY.”

Where is Jesus now?

If you said, “He’s in my heart”, CONGRATULATIONS, you are now a child of God, and part of His Royal Family!

The Creator of the universe sent His One and Only Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross for our sins, so that we can be set free, and get to skip hell and go to Heaven.

Indeed, Jesus paid your debt He did not owe ~ so that you can be freed from the eternal debt you could not pay.

That’s unconditional love!

May you be encouraged to grow in your new relationship with God through His Son Jesus:

* Pray: Talk to Jesus ever day, like your closest Friend.
* Read: Meditate on passages from God’s Word, the Bible. The book of John in the New Testament and wisdom book of Proverbs in the Old Testament are good places to start.
* Attend: Find a congregation where the Good News of Jesus is taught. One I highly recommend is Shiloh Church Oakland, which livestreams on Facebook and on their website, shilohonline dot com.
* YES: Say “Yes” to Jesus by telling others about the most important decision you have ever made ~ receiving Jesus as your personal Savior, Lord and Friend.

If this is your very first time inviting Jesus into your heart, or if you are re-dedicating your life to the Lord, please let me know, so that I can REJOICE with you as the angels of Heaven are, too! And it would be my special honor to pray God’s blessing and the gift of His precious Holy Spirit for you.

“Father God, thank You for this precious one who received Jesus. May Your precious Holy Spirit fill their heart and mind with joy and peace. Empower them to live the victorious God-honoring life as a new follower of Your precious Son, Yeshua Jesus. I pray, proclaim and decree that the enemy satan’s plans for this precious one’s life be utterly destroyed ~ and ONLY God’s perfect plan of peace and hope be firmly established (Jeremiah 29:11). May this precious one’s relationship and walk with You grow stronger each day. As this new member in Your Royal Family stays close to You in relationship through prayer, Bible reading, church attendance and sharing the Good News with others ~ I pray You, Lord God will protect and bless them each day of their lives, now and throughout eternity. In Jesus’ matchless and glorious Name we pray. AMEN.”

Precious one, know that you can place your complete confidence and trust in Yeshua Jesus. He will never let you down, and He will take you places you’ve only dreamed of.
