My salute to "Jackie Roosevelt Robinson", who was the first African American to play in Major League Baseball. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers joining them in 1947 and won the inaugural Rookie of the Year award that year. He had a stellar, 6-time all-star career and paved the way for many great black athletes to follow.
