I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this sign! Isn't it the greatest? Too bad it was early in the morning and the store wasn't open yet. After going home and reading online about the store, it is probably worth the trip to Denton TX just to go to this story. Here is a sampling from their website: "Atomic Candy is a small candy store with a nostalgic bend. We want to make you laugh and smile. We want to hear what candy you enjoyed. Hopefully we carry it, or we can find it and add it to our ever growing selection. If not, it might be found on our very sadly growing, discontinued list. We like old rusty signs, old store displays, neon, old music, or anything with blinky light bulbs. Creepy things that make you look twice are the things that make us giggle. We love vintage candy and soda. Everything from the design and packaging, to the taste that brings back all those good memories. We carry over 200 different glass bottled sodas including 60+ root beers. Thats over 200 kinds of burps. We are just big goofy kids at heart. Fake poop, rubber chickens, and bathroom humor still make us laugh. Please enter with a sense of humor and enjoy a walk down memory lane. Life is too short." Wow, that sounds like my kind of place!
