Description
Hoodoos are a tall thin spire of arock that protrudes out of the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. Hoodoos typically consist of relatively soft rock topped by harder, less easily eroded stone that protects each column from the elements. They generally form within sedimentary rock and volcanic rock formations. They are found throughout Bryce National Park in Utah where this photo was taken! They rocks are weathered through erosion, of wind, rain, and Time. I have been thru this area twice now, and hope more visits are in my future.
