Pepperdine Flag Salute;

Pepperdine University honors the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with nearly 3,000 flags.
This stunning tribute is located at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Malibu Canyon Road from September 9th through September 19th.

Los Angeles National Cemetery;

The cemetery was dedicated on May 22, 1889. It is directly connected to the central Veterans Home facilities by Constitution Avenue's underpass below freeway.

Burial in a national cemetery is open to all members of the armed forces who have met a minimum active duty service requirement and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. A Veteran�s spouse, widow or widower, minor dependent children, and under certain conditions, unmarried adult children with disabilities may also be eligible for burial.

The chapel at the cemetery was renamed the Bob Hope Veterans Chapel on 29 May 2002, Bob Hope's 99th birthday, in "celebration of his lifelong service to our American Veterans".

Each Sunday from sunrise to sunset, a temporary memorial appears next to the world-famous pier at Santa Monica, California.
