An F-86 Sabre, P-38 lightning and P-40 Warhawk in formation. The North American F-86 Sabre, sometimes called the Sabrejet, is a transonic jet fighter aircraft. Produced by North American Aviation, the Sabre is best known as the United States' first swept-wing fighter that could counter the swept-wing Soviet MiG-15 in high-speed dogfights in the skies of the Korean War. The Lockheed P-38 Lightning is a World War II–era American piston-engined fighter aircraft. Developed for the United States Army Air Corps, the P-38 had distinctive twin booms and a central nacelle containing the cockpit and armament. he Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American single-engined, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. The P-40 design was a modification of the previous Curtiss P-36 Hawk which reduced development time and enabled a rapid entry into production and operational service.

A great title for this lovely picture! I love the blue sky with clouds. It gives me the feeling of being in the air up among the clouds which a plain blue background fails to convey. Blue is my favourite colour, but, when we were stationed at R.A.F. El Adem in Libya, the cloudless blue sky became so predictable that it was hardly worth looking up! I remember getting so excited, when one day in September a little cloud appeared!
