You can’t begin to prepare yourself for a sunrise on Haleakala Volcano in Maui. Not because it is so freakin’ cold, and me a Montana girl, raised in Minnesota…. Holy moly…. I have never so cold. You have to get up at 3Am to arrive in time…. And, if you go, dress like you are going to Mount Everest! The wind will blow you away and the elevation made me super dizzy, I felt like the whole Volcano was moving. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience for me. It is an Adventure… and if you can do it, DO IT. The feeling of being on another planet will never be so real as when you step on a Volcano 10,000 feet in the air, pressing against some of Gods freshest creations, seeing the sun rise. A painting I had to capture. We were fortunate to have a cloud bank and that is what you want. Earth, my friends is an amazing planet….. and we only see a small portion in our lifetime.
