Description
Guy Fawkes Night, or Bonfire Night, is traditionally celebrated on 5th November primarily in Great Britain. It's origins date back to November 5th 1605, when Guy Fawkes was one of a group of conspirators who had smuggled a large amount of explosives beneath the House Of Lords in London, in an attempt to assassinate
King James 1.
Guy Fawkes was caught guarding the explosives, arrested, and subsequently tried for treason and executed with his fellow conspirators. Traditionally effigies of Guy Fawkes are burned on large bonfires with accompanying firework displays.
The firework display in the image was at the site of the Midland Railway in Derbyshire, England, a large heritage railway centre.
