This juvenile green heron was photographed in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in early fall. The juveniles are mainly brown, with streaked breasts and a dark bluish cap, a long bill, yellow legs, and yellow eye. This green heron was perched on a log, waiting patiently by the water for its prey.
