GOLDEN SILK
A Tropical Orb Weaver sits atop her deadly work of art. The effect of this photo was achieved by light painting different sections of the web and the spider with a small maglite. Tropical Orb Weavers make very large and ornate webs that they build at night and then take down in the morning. Despite their size and fearsome appearance, Tropical Orb Weavers are quite harmless to humans.
