At the Grand Naniloa Hotel in Hilo we discovered this beautiful golden hibiscus on the Hawaii Big Island. This golden hibiscus is the state flower of Hawaii. From this hotel we can also see the early morning sunrise kiss the clouds and peaks of 6 volcanoes from this point of view including, from the left, PÅhaku Hanalei, Mauna Loa, Dewey Cone, Pukauahi, Kilauea (most recently active and perhaps best known), and the closest, KahaualeÊ»a. The tide pools below are teaming with life including tropical fish, turtles, and many plant life.
The Hawaii Island, also known as “The Big Island,†is the largest of the island chain. As self-explanatory as it is stunning, the Big Island boasts some of Hawaii’s most varying landscape.
