Girl in a Copper Dress 3 invites the viewer to the gracefulness of dance, the slow, elegant stretching movements of a lithe young woman as she moves serenely and tranquilly through her space. The very sedateness of pace is one that reminds us to slow down ourselves, to stop what we’re doing right now (which is probably texting on the phone, checking the email, or worrying about one of the many matters that assault us through the day) and join the dancer in her tranquility and peace.
It is said that life is a dance, and for those of us who know that we are not dancers, this can seem daunting – how will we stumble and fumble our way through each day when we cannot keep our feet in control on the dance floor?
But as with all metaphors, that of life being a dance is one that we can grasp within our hearts, recognizing that, when it comes to living each day, we do not stumble and fumble our way through the day. We think, we consider, we analyze, we reason, and then, with those in the back of our minds, we move forward with the sensations that come from our heart: we love, we listen, we understand, we extend compassion. The combination of these elements, none of which can be physically seen the way we can watch a dance performance, lead to an elegance and beauty that affects the people and the world around us.
It is in this way that we dance, and as we do so, we can see The Girl in the Copper Dress 3 in our own lives, moving gracefully and elegantly through the day to day issues of life.
