This particular B-17F Flying Fortress is not the original Memphis Belle, but is a later model B-17G painted to look like the Belle for the making of the 1990 Hollywood movie Memphis Belle. The original Memphis Belle has been reclaimed by the USAF Museum in Dayton where it is undergoing a full restoration for display. This B-17F Flying Fortress is airworthy and flies all over the united states including overseas several times to represent the era.
