Description
As the fullness of summer begins to wind down, my garden dahlias burst forth and fill our home with their beauty. These are some of the different, colorful varieties of dahlias I cultivate in our garden outside of our bay window; dinner plate, water lily, button, cactus are all varieties of dahlias. Pictured here are Penhill Dark Monarch, Cafe Au Lait, Purple Gem, Park Princess, Jomanda, Fire Pot, Alfred Grille, and Tiamo.
As I gather them for vases, I set them on the deck to give the bugs a moment to find a new home. I noticed how pretty they looked all in a row waiting for me. So I created this image and then went on to create several images with other flowers from the garden that complemented these.
There is nothing like a garden. It is my sanctuary. To grow flowers is a joy. You can tell by my portfolio that flowers is, without question, a favorite subject.
