This wooden structure has built on the parapets of a man made fort in the Patapsco river in 1854. Fort Carroll Lighthouse is the bay’s most widely traveled lighthouse. Being moved many times all around the fort in an attempt to ward approaching vessels away from the fort. Both the fort and the light are privately owned and have been left abandoned for years.
