Description
Forest Altar World Crisis Peace is a triptych of three paintings by Michele Avanti
The first titled Forest Altar began as a photograph of one tree which transitioned to multiple mirror images, which include a chalice, the green man, a reflective pond with lilypads and frogs.
The second image titled, World in Crisis Calls For Peace, took the first one and floated it into numerous globes with new reflections and a whole new set of colors, exposures and movement. This one takes the original pristine primordial health Forest Altar to the present day destruction of nature where man's greed is closing in on the total pollution of air, earth and water, thus killing the fire of our planet's life.
The third painting titled Peace Symbol Rainbow Flag takes the World in Crisis image into a rainbow of colors, piecing them together to make a flag with overlays of the peace symbol and the words peace. This represents the many minds of humanity and creatures that will remake, replant, rebuild the forests and the planet. It will not only take a village but will take all the people with all their differences to come together and make patching our world their primary intent. Together we can make our world new, whole and peaceful-- as this magnificent garden was meant to be.
