Let there be no doubt, that this piece is a celebration of patriotism, and of love of our great country, these United States of America. Though inspired by Jasper John's "Flag", this was not created as an homage. It is a symbolic look back at the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Through the translucent layers that make up the flag designed by Betsy Ross, lie the actual words from that most famous declaration, and signatures of the founding fathers. This original piece measures 3' x 2' and weighs over 13 lbs.
