After an approximate 2.5 mile hike, you are hoping to see a gorgeous freestanding sandstone arch. That is, if you haven’t already thoroughly researched the hike online and seen the photos. Otherwise, this is your first view. You wonder ‘this is it?’. At first it just looks like an arch-shaped overhang or cave. But the natural bridge crosses the back of the canyon, narrowly separated from the rock wall behind it. In the photo, you can see a sliver of light that lets you know it really is an arch! This makes the landmark less prominent from a distance, but quite dramatic up close. Morning Glory arch is a 243-foot long natural bridge, the sixth largest natural rock span in America.
