Description
First snowfall of the season in Denali, Alaska, adjacent to Denali National Park. Wintery-looking color landscape photo of the Alaskan wilderness. Captured along the George Parks Highway between Denali and McKinley in late August 2015. This first snowfall of the year surprised and delighted us when we awoke that morning at our lodge in Denali, part of our Princess Cruise-tour southward from Fairbanks to Vancouver.
Although the gray day and snowy conditions give this image the look of a moody black-and-white, it was shot in color. Unlike its companion image, Snowy Alaskan Forest with just a hint of golden yellow, in this image a plethora of golden yellows peek out amidst the Alaskan firs.
