Description
While roaming the streets of 'Frisco with my cameras, it struck me that most of the narcissists were just hanging out, striking poses for onlookers.
I once interviewed Kenneth Anger for KVOA TV, Tucson, in the late 1960's, and don't remember a single question I asked him. He was showing his films at the local Jewish center. At least he made an appearance. (Andy Warhol couldn't be bothered and sent a lookalike when presenting his films.)
Anger was a pioneer in the underground film movement. Most of his films are short and deal with homoerotic themes. He is also the author of the trashy "Hollywood Babylon" books, dealing with the seamiest aspects of Hollywood.
Much of what he wrote about were unproven rumors, especially the European editions.
Anger stars in "Fireworks " (1947), his first movie.
His later color films are much more ambitious.
