I really love your all of the cast shadows in this one. I have so much to learn. The fence is fabulous, as everyone else has commented. Another beauty.

Thank you Diane! I think the fence is what really makes this one work for me. Makes me want to put fences in all my paintings! LOL

this one is exceptional Ken...the fence behind it adds more interest and such intricate perfection!

Thank you Linda! I had fun putting that in there!

Ken - this is outstanding, truly. I would love to stand and watch you as you paint - you come up with such interesting subjects, paints, techniques. I'm in awe.

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Sibby! You are far too kind!

Ken, I totally agree with the others...the juxtaposition of the hard metal and soft flower make for a very interesting painting. I also really like the way you are dealing with the lights and darks...shadows. Beautiful work. Can't wait to see more!

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Kandyce! I had a blast figuring how I wanted the fence in there.

Very nice piece, Ken.

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Kip! I had a great time painting the fence into this one!

Lots to think about with this one. I agree with the girls, I like your metal work. Great job with the light and shadow in the flower. The fence looks so real, I feel like I could slip my fingers into it and shake it. I would have never thought of this combo but you pulled it off! Well done.

Ken Powers replied:

Thanks Sandra! It is definitely a bit on the busy side but it was a lot of fun to paint. The fence is my favorite part too!

Nice painting Ken! The fence is perfectly painted. I agree with Marsha in that I was also first drawn to your paintings because of your metal work. Very nicely done!

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Bette! The fence is my favorite part as well!

I'm just in awe, Ken. Wow.....what a painting! The flower is just beautiful of course, but to be honest, I've sort of missed your metal pieces, too, as that's what drew me to your work in the first place. The two elements together makes for a stunning piece & the spattered background gives it wonderful texture.

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Marsha! I had to figure a way to work some metal into one of these somehow!
