This iconic hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places for its Spanish Baroque Architecture Style. Located in Marfa, Texas a mecca for artist and photographers, writers and movie directors. The El Paisano Hotel was where the famous motion picture Giant was filmed starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. The original color photo was enhanced using sepia tone to give the image a more realistic appeal of a bygone era. This photo part of a new series America Southwest and West a 2,763 mile journey from New Orleans to San Francisco, California. Marfa, Texas is located two hours from no where. The town deserted has gone through a transformation of renovation and is frequently visited by the traveler. During my visit to this iconic hotel management did allow me to play an original upright piano located in the lobby for the guest and was a highlight of my visit to Marfa, Texas.
