Some tough luck here. An early start to beat the crowds brought me here only to find everything closed off as the locals were holding their bi-annual lighthouse stairs run. Wow! Leave it to me to be here on day X out of 730 possibilities. My explicit intent was to climb the stairs myself and photograph the long and winding marble staircase because I was looking for a photograph resembling a cross-section of a large shell with its chambers. Rolling with the punches this is what I ended up with instead. Almost forgot to mention; it's the Eckmuehl Lighthouse in Penmarc'h in southwestern Brittany, France.
