Bernard Maine is located on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island. My son and I rolled out of bed early one morning in Maine and made our way to Bernard, also known as the home of Thurston's Restaurant. This spot was very quiet where as normally it is crowded with people waiting to get into Thurston's! This morning, the sea gulls were out and the hardworking lobster-men and fishermen were out getting ready for their long day at sea! It was so beautiful and the ocean was so calm! I need to make a habit of arising early in the morning. It is just the perfect time of day!
