After Christmas deliveries are made, Santa and Mrs. Claus are headed due south in their Roadtrek camper van. It seems these snowbirds need a tropical vacation from the excitement of winter
My wonderful Roadtrek client requested a Christmas card winter scene which included the camper van, as a digital manipulation project. This was a fun project but more work than I anticipated - simply because I was having way too much fun!
I combined three paintings in a digital manipulation program to create this new Christmas card scene. My dad's painting called WINTER SNOW TRACKS became the basic background scene to which I added the camper van. I had to remove the summer greenery reflected in the van from the ROADTREK RAPIDO CANOES painting, create new winter reflections and add the shadow of the van on the snow. Then I took my mailbox painting called SOMEBODY WAS SNOOPING and added it to the scene. Finally, I did some creative digital painting from scratch to add Santa and Mrs. Claus to the van. I called this image DUE SOUTH because it represents the Clauses vacation trip in their Roadtrek camper van after their hard work for Christmas.
